Qualifications

• 4+ years in IT automation, IT engineering, or business systems.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise automation and integration platforms.
• Strong SQL skills and cloud data platform experience.
• Experience integrating systems via REST APIs, webhooks, and service accounts.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, SSO, SCIM, SAML, and lifecycle management.
• Azure cloud experience; scripting with PowerShell or Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automations across HR, Finance, and ops systems.
• Support identity lifecycle processes including onboarding/offboarding workflows.
• Maintain integrations between HRIS, CRM, ERP, and collaboration tools.
• Troubleshoot automation failures, API issues, and data sync bottlenecks.

IT Automation & Business Systems Engineer

Department: Enterprise Technology & Operations

Reporting to: Head of IT Operations

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Automation & Business Systems Engineer to join a fast-growing international technology organization. This is a highly cross-functional role combining automation engineering, internal platform ownership, low-code development, cloud administration, and IT operations.

You will work closely with teams across HR, Finance, Security, Engineering, and Operations to streamline business processes, integrate key enterprise applications, and build internal tools that improve efficiency and governance at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Systems Integration

• Design, build, and maintain business process automations across HR, Finance, and operational systems.
• Support identity lifecycle processes, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding workflows.
• Maintain integrations between enterprise platforms such as HRIS, CRM, ERP, and collaboration tools.
• Troubleshoot automation failures, API issues, data synchronization problems, and workflow performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements.

Internal Platforms & Application Ownership

• Own and enhance internal applications used for governance, reporting, and operational workflows.
• Build and maintain low-code solutions and lightweight business applications.
• Develop integrations with external and internal data sources.
• Improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and platform reliability.
• Create documentation, technical specifications, and architecture decisions.

AI & Emerging Technology Solutions

• Support internal AI initiatives, including governance, access controls, and usage monitoring.
• Develop tools that provide visibility into AI platform adoption, utilization, and costs.
• Work with APIs, automation platforms, and conversational interfaces to improve employee productivity.
• Evaluate and integrate new AI-related tooling and services.

IT Operations & Security

• Provide advanced technical support for complex incidents and escalations.
• Manage SaaS applications, access controls, and identity management solutions.
• Support endpoint compliance, security monitoring, and audit activities.
• Partner with Security teams to review new tools, integrations, and vendor requests.
• Assist with compliance evidence gathering and operational reporting.

Required Experience

• 4+ years of experience in IT Automation, IT Engineering, Business Systems, or similar roles.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise automation and integration platforms (e.g. Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, Power Automate, Zapier Enterprise).
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud data platforms.
• Experience integrating systems through REST APIs, webhooks, and service accounts.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), SSO, SCIM, SAML, and identity lifecycle management.
• Experience with cloud services in Azure.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python.
• Familiarity with low-code development platforms and internal business applications.
• Experience with ITSM platforms and incident management processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Snowflake, Salesforce, NetSuite, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Knowledge of Slack integrations or chatbot development.
• Exposure to LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini.
• Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with endpoint management and modern device administration.
• Experience with Power BI, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
