Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking an experienced Process/Manufacturing Engineer to lead optimization of manufacturing and assembly processes for turbomachinery and thermal technologies. You will implement new products, automate processes, and drive continuous improvement across production lines.

Responsibilities include planning production schedules, analyzing KPIs, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with SAP for BOMs and routings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years in Process or Manufacturing Engineering in a production environment.
• Strong command of English, written and spoken.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create technical manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with SAP and BOM/routing management is a plus.
• Solid understanding of serial manufacturing, machining, and assembly processes.
• Proficient in problem-solving methodologies and quality tools.
• Knowledge of manufacturing automation (CNC, robotics, vision, PLC) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with turbocharger products and assembly processes is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve manufacturing and assembly processes for optimization, productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
• Implement new products, advanced manufacturing technologies, equipment, and process changes into serial production.
• Analyze and resolve production issues using Lean methods and structured problem solving (8D, 5 Why, TPM, SMED, scrap reduction).
• Plan, monitor, and control production schedules, capacity, and output to meet targets.
• Analyze production KPIs and drive continuous improvement to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, standard work, PFMEA, BOMs, routings, APQP docs).
• Collaborate with SAP to create and maintain BOMs and routings.
• Participate in internal/external audits and ensure compliance with IATF 16949/APQP requirements.
• Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and standards.

• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, including IATF 16949/APQP requirements.
• Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and operating standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering within a production environment, preferably in the automotive or aerospace industry.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and create technical, manufacturing, and assembly drawings.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project) (knowledge of SAP nice to have), including BOM and routing management.
• Solid understanding of serial manufacturing and assembly processes, including machining, fastening/torque-controlled operations, inspection systems, and production equipment.
• Practical strong knowledge of problem-solving methodologies and quality tools.
• Technical knowledge of manufacturing automation, including CNC machining, , industrial robot programming, vision systems, and PLC-controlled equipment, is considered an advantage.
• Technical knowledge of welding technologies and joining processes, including MIG/MAG, TIG, resistance spot welding, laser welding, brazing, and automated robotic welding systems, is considered an advantage - nice to have.
• Knowledge of turbocharger products, assembly processes, and operating principles is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results within established deadlines.
• Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma certifications are considered an asset.
