Job summary

PwC Polska Kraków seeks an Internal Controls Senior Consultant with German to join the MSO Internal Control Testing team. You will deliver design and operating effectiveness testing for business and IT controls and collaborate on international engagements.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate tasks, and communicate risk insights to client stakeholders in German and English.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in risk management, internal control testing, SOX, or internal audit.
• Fluent German and English (C1) with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks and SOX requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and AI-enabled testing approaches.

Responsibilities

• Deliver internal controls activities, including design and operating effectiveness testing.
• Support internal controls projects and workstreams across territories.
• Act as a senior team member ensuring high-quality delivery and mentoring juniors.
• Interface with client stakeholders in German and English, presenting results.
• Support remediation and deficiency management to strengthen governance, risk and controls.

MSO Internal Control Testing team is a rapidly developing group of experts in the area of internal control, process optimization and review of IT systems. We carry out projects related to verifying the effectiveness of internal control from the perspective of business and IT processes. We identify, analyze and manage business and IT risks for clients from various sectors around the world.

We are looking for:

Internal Controls Senior Consultant with German

Your future role:

• Deliver internal controls activities, including design effectiveness assessments, walkthroughs, and operating effectiveness testing for business and IT controls.
• Support internal controls projects and workstreams, collaborating with PwC teams across different territories and contributing to international engagements.
• Act as a senior team member responsible for high-quality delivery, supporting task coordination, knowledge sharing, and collaboration within multi-location teams.
• Serve as a key point of contact for client stakeholders, facilitating discussions in German and English, presenting testing results, and supporting conversations on risks and controls.
• Support remediation and deficiency management activities, helping clients strengthen their governance, risk, and control environment.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to enhancing internal control methodologies, including the use of automation and technology-enabled solutions.
• Contribute to selected business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and knowledge-sharing activities within the practice.
• Have demonstrated knowledge of new technologies and AI-powered tools in your daily work (e.g., task automation, information analysis, content creation).
• Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to their development and fostering a collaborative team environment.

• Fluency in German and English (minimum C1 level), allowing confident verbal and written communication with stakeholders,
• Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities,
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks, SOX requirements, risk management principles, and internal audit leading practices,
• Proficiency in using new technologies and AI-based tools in your daily work (e.g., task automation, information analysis, content creation).

Nice to have:

• Practical experience in performing SOX testing, internal controls reviews, or internal audit engagements in an international environment,
• Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), CISA, CRISC, or equivalent,
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and technology-enabled controls,
• Familiarity with data analytics, automation tools, or AI-supported testing approaches.
