Job summary

Intertek seeks a Hydrotechnical Inspector to conduct in-depth inspections of dams, levees, and spillways, evaluating design, construction, and operation for safety and compliance. You will prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to engineers, contractors, and regulators.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in hydrotechnical engineering, a strong understanding of hydraulic structures, and proficiency with inspection tools. Hybrid work options and professional certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Hydraulic, or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in hydrotechnical engineering or inspections.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic structures and relevant codes and standards.
• Professional certification (e.g., PE or equivalent) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in the use of inspection tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth inspections of hydrotechnical structures including dams, levees, and spillways to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
• Evaluate the design, construction, and operation of hydrotechnical systems, assessing their performance and safety features.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports that document findings, deficiencies, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to discuss inspection results and facilitate project compliance.
• Monitor construction processes and methods, ensuring adherence to approved plans and specifications.
• Stay informed about new hydrotechnical technologies and industry best practices to enhance inspection methods.
