Job summary

AFRY is seeking a Hydrotechnical Designer to work on diverse water infrastructure projects across the design and implementation lifecycle. You will join a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues in Germany to deliver innovative hydraulic solutions.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure planning, tendering and cost estimation. A hybrid working arrangement and opportunities for professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in planning and design of infrastructure and engineering structures.
• English language at CEFR B2 level.
• Experience with tendering, quantity take-offs and cost estimation.
• Experience with AVA procurement software (e.g. RIB iTWO).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an international team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver hydraulic and civil engineering projects across all design and implementation phases.
• Coordinate surveying works, geotechnical investigations and hydraulic analyses.
• Prepare feasibility studies, option assessments and technical concepts.
• Develop engineering solutions for waterfront, pumping stations and related infrastructure.
• Collaborate with CAD designers, technicians and other engineering specialists.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Develop construction concepts and implementation strategies, including construction phasing.
• Contribute to technical solution development and engineering decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare technical reports, explanatory memoranda and planning documentation.
• Prepare tender documents, technical specifications and bills of quantities.
• Evaluate contractor bids and prepare award recommendations.
