Job summary

Luxoft Poland is seeking a senior Java Backend Engineer to join a Regulatory Reporting Platform. The role focuses on designing and building scalable data pipelines using Java and Spark for a global investment bank, delivering high-quality regulatory outputs across 240 jurisdictions.

You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders in a distributed team across Ukraine, Poland, and the US, while operating in a hybrid model with 2/3 office days.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of commercial Java experience.
• Design scalable, high-performance backend applications.
• Strong SQL skills and handling large datasets from multiple sources.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a global distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain solutions for a large-scale Regulatory Reporting Platform.
• Build and enhance data processing pipelines using Java and Apache Spark.
• Implement scalable data ingestion, transformation, aggregation, and enrichment from multiple sources.
• Develop and optimize batch processing jobs for regulatory reports across jurisdictions.
• Ensure high data quality, validation, reconciliation, and consistency throughout the reporting lifecycle.
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and cross-functional teams to deliver reporting functionality.
• Investigate and resolve data and application issues in development, test, and production environments.
• Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability for high-volume workloads.
• Contribute to reusable components and engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and releases to ensure quality.
• Work with distributed teams in agile delivery across Ukraine, Poland, and the US.
• Support platform improvement including monitoring and operational stability.
