Job summary

Capgemini Engineering seeks a hands-on Packet Core engineer to support end-to-end delivery, deployment, integration, validation, migration and upgrades of core network elements. You will work with architects, project managers, customers, and support teams to ensure high quality delivery throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires strong 4G/5G core knowledge, telecom protocol understanding, and Linux/Unix experience. Hybrid work models and ongoing training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Experience with Packet Core deployment, integration or operations in telecom environments.
• Strong knowledge of 4G/5G Core Networks and Packet Core technologies (GGSN/SGSN/PGW/SGW/MME/AMF/SMF/UPF).
• Understanding of 3GPP standards and telecom protocols.
• Experience with software installation, configuration, testing, migration and upgrades.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and incident management experience.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and telecom delivery processes.
• Experience documenting procedures, MOPs and integration steps.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, integrate, and configure Packet Core elements.
• Prepare and validate technical docs, templates, and procedures.
• Execute system, functional, and acceptance tests.
• Troubleshoot issues and support incident resolution.
• Perform software upgrades, migration and feature activation.
• Collaborate with project, customer and support teams throughout delivery.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation.
