EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer in Poland to join a hybrid team. You will work on Java-based components, implement RESTful services, and participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies.

We value a solid Java foundation, 9–12 months of production experience, and a willingness to learn. The role offers collaboration across offices in Kraków, Wrocław, and Gdańsk with three days onsite.

Qualifications

• 9–12 months of production software development experience.
• Strong Java fundamentals including Java 21 features.
• Proficient in writing SQL queries and relational databases.
• Experience with JUnit and unit testing principles.
• Familiar with REST concepts, HTTP methods and status codes.
• Git-based version control and Agile workflows.
• Spring Boot experience for Java-based applications.
• Basic Google Cloud Platform (GCP) knowledge.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and practices.
• Willingness to learn and grow within a team.
• Proficiency in English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components using Java under guidance.
• Write clean, readable code following team standards.
• Implement and consume RESTful APIs as part of app development.
• Write unit tests to ensure correctness and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews as reviewer and contributor.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and business analysts in Agile.
• Use Git for version control and collaboration.
• Investigate and resolve bugs reported during testing or production.
• Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Continuously learn new technologies to grow with the team.
