Job summary

EPAM Systems in Poland is hiring a Junior Software Engineer to join our team. The role offers a hybrid work model with 3 days a week from an EPAM office in Kraków, Wrocław, or Gdańsk.

You will work with Java, REST APIs, and modern cloud and CI/CD practices in a supportive engineering environment. You're at the beginning of your career, with a solid Java foundation, eager to learn and grow, and ready to contribute to real-world projects alongside experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java core fundamentals and Java 21 features.
• Experience with unit testing using JUnit.
• Ability to write SQL queries and work with relational databases.
• Familiar with REST concepts and API consumption.
• Hands-on with Git and collaboration workflows.
• Knowledge of Spring Boot for building Java apps.
• Basic understanding of Google Cloud Platform concepts.
• Awareness of CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Strong English communication skills (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components under guidance using Java and related technologies.
• Write clean, well-structured code following team standards.
• Implement and consume RESTful APIs as part of development tasks.
• Write unit tests to ensure code reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold quality standards.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and business analysts in an Agile environment.
• Use version control to manage changes and contribute to repositories.
• Investigate and resolve bugs reported during testing or production.
• Engage in team ceremonies like stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Continuously learn new technologies to grow with the team.
