Job summary

PwC Polska is hiring a Cloud Data Engineer in Kraków to build data platforms, define data flows and design migrations from legacy systems. You will work with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics, crafting data pipelines and governance with a focus on quality and scalability.

Applicants should have 3+ years of data engineering experience, Python (PySpark) and SQL skills, and be proficient in Polish and English at B2 level.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of data engineering or related experience such as BI or data science.
• Hands-on with data transformation platforms, preferably Azure-based (Microsoft Fabric, Databricks); other platforms valued.
• Experience building data warehouses, data lakes and data lakehouses using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Experience writing data transformation scripts in Python (PySpark) and SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and release management across Dev, QA and Production with Azure DevOps and/or Jira.
• Polish and Business English at B2 level or above, with ability to prepare technical documentation with PM support.
• Familiarity with AI tools and automation in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Build data platforms with data lakehouses, warehouses and lakes using tools like Fabric, Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Define data flows across platforms using medallion or lambda architectures.
• Design migration plans moving data from legacy systems to target solutions.
• Conduct data assessments with Modelers and Analysts to remediate data quality issues.
• Liaise with senior client stakeholders and assist Senior Data Architects in gathering requirements.
