Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to accelerate modernization initiatives by embedding in a cross-functional product team. The role focuses on delivering production software, AI-assisted development, and strong technical judgment within aviation systems.

You will work across the full delivery lifecycle, from clarification of problems to deployment and stabilization, with emphasis on design, testing, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and general software engineering principles.
• Experience delivering and operating production software.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to deliver meaningful changes.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate software for aviation products and modernization initiatives.
• Translate ambiguous product outcomes into clear technical designs, interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
• Use coding agents and other AI-assisted development tools across the software lifecycle.
• Decompose work so engineers and agents can execute effectively, including parallelizing tasks.
• Critically evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, architecture, and security.
• Establish verification through automated testing, static analysis, and security tooling.
• Integrate new capabilities with existing systems and aviation data formats.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs early and communicate them clearly.
• Participate in code reviews, production support, and continuous improvement.
