Job summary

SimCorp is seeking a Product Engineer to drive value in Investment Operations. You will translate business goals into opportunities, prototype early, and define scope with stakeholders. You will ensure quality through clear requirements, testing, and risk management while collaborating with cross-functional teams across Europe.

You will work in an agile environment, use AI tools for rapid prototyping, and participate in demos and requirement gathering to align product outcomes with client needs.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals in development and testing disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to move from problem statement to working prototype quickly.
• Experience writing precise technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on quality assurance: test design, validation, and defect triage.
• Experience working directly with clients or external counterparties.
• Solid grounding in financial instruments – Repos, Derivatives, or related collateral/securities product.
• Comfortable running demos, gathering requirements from business users, and translating business workflows into system behavior.
• Ability to frame engineering decisions in terms of user and business value.
• Strong stakeholder communication across technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Translate business goals and user needs into product opportunities with clear value hypotheses.
• Prototype solutions early and often to validate ideas before full build.
• Define scope collaboratively with stakeholders, anchored to user value.
• Track and communicate the impact of what ships, delivering outcomes.
• Write and review technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Assess feasibility and trade-offs in terms of delivery impact and risk.
• Be the last line of defense on quality: review, validate, and test deliverables.
• Identify and highlight technical debt and systemic risks.
• Keep system documentation live as a product asset.
