Job description

About Us:

We are a mobile-first AAA game studio founded by the former CEO and CPO of Plarium. Our team of 140 professionals across Europe specializes in large-scale collection RPGs, drawing on experience developing and publishing Raid: Shadow Legends.

We are building the next evolution of mobile-first CRPGs based on one of the world's most iconic IPs. We operate as a fully remote company, with offices in Tel Aviv and Krakow.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Localisation to take full ownership of the translation and localisation of our game. You will lead the localisation of a very large, text-heavy mobile RPG into at least 10 languages, including three Asian languages, and make sure every market receives a version of the game that feels native, culturally relevant and true to the IP.

You will build and manage our network of external translation vendors – from selection and contract negotiation, through task assignment and quality control, to settlement of their work – and work closely with our internal art and development teams to implement localised content in the game. You will also own culturalisation, adapting content, visuals and tone to the expectations and sensitivities of each target market.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the end-to-end localisation of the game across at least 10 languages, including three Asian languages (e.g. Japanese, Korean, Chinese).
  • Define and execute the localisation strategy, roadmap, budget and timelines, aligned with production and live-operations schedules.
  • Select, onboard and manage external translation agencies and freelance linguists; negotiate rates, terms and service-level agreements.
  • Assign and schedule translation work, track delivery, verify quality and handle invoicing and settlement of vendor work.
  • Partner with art and development teams to implement translations in the game, including localised UI, text in art assets, fonts and character sets, and text expansion constraints.
  • Lead culturalisation: review narrative, characters, visuals, names, symbols and monetisation messaging for cultural fit, legal and ratings requirements and local sensitivities in each market.
  • Build and maintain glossaries, style guides, terminology databases and translation memories to ensure consistency with the IP across all languages.
  • Set up and own localisation tools and pipelines (TMS/CAT tools, string management, automated exports/imports) together with engineering.
  • Organise linguistic QA (LQA) and in-context testing, and manage localisation bug tracking and resolution.
  • Ensure localisation keeps pace with live operations – events, updates, store pages and marketing materials.
Requirements:

Experience and Localisation

  • At least five years of professional experience in game localisation, including at least two years in a lead or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of shipping large-scale games in 10+ languages, ideally mobile free-to-play or live-service titles.
  • Hands-on experience localising into Asian languages (Japanese, Korean and/or Chinese) and understanding of their technical and cultural specifics.
  • Strong experience managing translation agencies and freelancers, including vendor selection, rate negotiation, contracting, budgeting and settlement.
  • Solid understanding of culturalisation and market adaptation, including age-rating, legal and content-sensitivity requirements in key regions.
  • Experience with TMS/CAT tools and localisation pipelines (e.g. Crowdin, memoQ, Phrase, Smartling or similar).
  • Ability to work closely with art, design and engineering teams on implementation and technical constraints.
  • Excellent organisational and project-management skills, with the ability to run many languages and parallel workstreams at once.
  • Fluent English; clear written and verbal communication with creative, technical and business stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with collection RPGs, hero collectors or other narrative-rich, progression-heavy games.
  • Experience localising games based on well-known licensed IPs and working with licensor approvals.
  • Knowledge of one or more additional languages, especially an Asian language.
  • Experience with LLM-assisted or machine-translation workflows with robust human review.
  • Experience with Unity or other engines' localisation systems.
What We Offer:
  • An influential role in the mobile RPG gaming industry.
  • Flexible employment terms: employment contract or B2B.
  • A remote, in-office, or hybrid work model.
  • An engaging team environment with regular company events.
  • A competitive benefits package tailored to your needs.

This is an opportunity to bring a high-profile mobile RPG to players around the world and to build the localisation function of the studio from the ground up. If you combine deep localisation expertise with strong vendor management and a sensitivity to culture, we would like to hear from you.
