About the role:
We are seeking a strategic Head of Delivery to optimize our engineering processes, scale our delivery capabilities, and drive operational excellence. This role focuses on organizational strategy, agile delivery operations, team growth, and high-level technical leadership in data processing. It’s a strategic position for both technical and people leadership. Setting the engineering direction, developing engineering leaders, builds a strong and motivated organization, and ensures that technology supports the company's long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Strategy & Operations:
- Conduct organizational audits to identify pain points and implement high-ROI process improvements.
- Define the delivery modus operandi, structuring teams and clarifying reporting lines with Chapter/Platform leads.
- Define and track engineering delivery metrics (quality, speed, productivity) and establish ongoing OKR/KPI processes.
Agile Delivery Integration
- Align delivery and roadmaps across multiple squads and manage the complex Book of Work (BoW).
- Standardize squad operations, creating a blueprint for launching new teams.
- Foster a healthy, sustainable working rhythm between Engineering, Product Owners (POs), and Data Analysts (DAs).
- Drive engineering hiring, from defining ideal candidate profiles to actively leveraging networks.
- Develop global career frameworks, supporting growth trajectories and succession planning for direct reports.
Technical Leadership
- Guide technical direction for high-volume data processing architectures (Databricks or similar).
- Oversee data quality initiatives, focusing on input/output volume deviations.
- Define and establish a formalized Quality Assurance (QA) function across the organization.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, technical delivery, or large-scale data operations.
- 5+ years in a senior engineering leadership role, successfully managing technical teams, including guiding other managers, Tech Leads, and Chapter Leads.
- Proven ability to optimize engineering processes and define operational blueprints for new and existing teams.
- Deep expertise in Agile delivery methodologies and optimizing the software development life cycle (SDLC) across multiple squads.
- Demonstrated success in performing organizational audits and identifying process gaps with high-ROI solutions.
- Strong practical experience defining, rolling out, and managing goal-setting frameworks (OKRs/KPIs) and engineering delivery metrics (e.g., DORA metrics, velocity, quality metrics).
- Experience aligning technical delivery with Product Management roadmaps and managing complex Books of Work (BoW).
- Experience in large-scale data engineering and SaaS platforms.
- Understanding of Databricks (or similar data platforms) and high-volume data processing pipelines.
- Plus: Experience establishing and maturing a Quality Assurance (QA) function from the ground up within a data-heavy engineering organization.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build a healthy rhythm between Engineering, Product Owners (POs), and Data Analysts (DAs).
