Job summary

Adtran, Inc. in Gdynia invites a hardware-minded student to join our Optical Transport hardware engineering team for a learning-focused internship. You will work alongside an experienced Hardware Engineer on designing, developing and supporting hardware controller modules for telecom systems.

You will gain hands-on experience through schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, lab bring-up, testing and documentation, with mentorship and a structured growth plan.

Qualifications

• 3rd-year student pursuing Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Availability of at least 20 hours per week in Gdynia office.
• Strong fundamentals in analog and digital circuits and common buses (I2C, SPI, UART).
• Basic knowledge of microcontroller/microprocessor systems, memory and peripherals.
• Hands-on experience with EDA tools to read/draw schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assist Hardware Engineer with schematic capture, design reviews, and PCB layout guidance.
• Participate in board bring-up and debugging with test equipment.
• Help write and run hardware and integration test cases and report issues.
• Research components, check datasheets, and input to component selection.
• Contribute to hardware design specs, test reports, and production test docs.
• Learn PCB production release processes and assist with production test procedures.
• Join cross-functional team meetings with Hardware, Systems Engineering, FPGA, Mechanics, Software and Operations.
