Job summary

Slate Auto seeks a proactive Group Leader for Facilities and Maintenance to oversee daily operations at our U.S. manufacturing site. You will lead technicians, ensure equipment reliability, and maintain a safe, efficient work environment across the Crew E Shift.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5+ years in facilities within manufacturing, and strong leadership, problem‑solving, and CMMS knowledge. This role requires authorization to work in the United States.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Excellent problem‑solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the facilities and maintenance team to ensure timely and effective maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and support manufacturing goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, and procurement of tools and spare parts.
  • Oversee facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building management systems.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff, promoting continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Group Leader for Facilities and Maintenance to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and improvement of our manufacturing facility for our Crew E Shift. This role is responsible for leading a team of technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

What You Bring to the Team

Salary Range

The compensation for this position is the range Slate reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job‑related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; work location; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual): 108,877.00 – 163,316.00 USD.
