Job summary

Splunk is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the App Runtime team. You will contribute to designing and delivering long-term software for a wide range of developer tools within our SaaS stack, collaborating with product, UX, and documentation to empower engineers.

You will build and maintain scalable microservices, improve test suites, and drive CI/CD practices while prioritizing security and performance. This role offers meaningful impact and collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• Software engineer with experience in large-scale SaaS applications.
• Production-level Go programming experience.
• Hands-on Docker, Kubernetes and container tech.
• Nice to have: Python, C++, AWS/Azure, Terraform and Puppet.
• Security knowledge and networking basics.
• Familiarity with Linux internals.
• Ability to design for scalable microservice architectures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implementation and delivery of long-term impact software per requirements and system architecture.
• Maintain and debug existing technology stack; fix issues.
• Collaborate with product management, architects and the team to build features.
• Create, enhance and encourage robust test suites with automated testing and CI.
• Integrate metrics and service level indicators to monitor, improve, and scale services.
• Lead code reviews and ensure quality to prevent future problems.
• Follow SDLC in Agile methodology.
