Job summary

Autoliv seeks a VC Mgr, Steering Wheels to drive end-to-end cost optimization for the global product line. You will own cost modeling, develop should-cost models, and act as the global VCM focal point for cost competitiveness across steering wheel portfolios.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Product Line and Sales, leading cost reduction efforts and presenting analyses to senior leadership. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in Cost Engineering, Value Engineering, Product Costing, Purchasing or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Proven expertise in should-cost modelling and greenfield costing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier cost structures.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills in a global environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the global cost modeling framework for the product line.
• Develop and govern should-cost models, cost standards and methodologies.
• Lead global cost competitiveness as the VCM focal point for steering wheels.
• Perform greenfield cost calculations for core components and standard parts.
• Support New Order Intake with Project and Segment Purchasing.
• Develop cost breakdowns and target costs to guide sourcing decisions.
• Validate supplier quotations and maintain cost benchmarks.
• Lead a global product-line VCM forum and drive cross-divisional alignment.
• Standardize costing methodologies, master data and governance across divisions.
• Identify and prioritize cost reduction opportunities throughout the lifecycle.
• Translate benchmarking insights into action and drive Design-to-Cost initiatives.
