Job summary

Remitly seeks a Principal Program Manager, Safety & Security to own our global safety program. You will monitor geopolitical risk across offices, advise leadership on active threats, and lead incident response when situations escalate.

You will build security foundations, standards, and audit-ready documentation across all locations, partnering with HR, Legal, and risk teams. This role demands strategic, cross‑functional leadership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate security and security program management.
• Experience monitoring geopolitical risk in multiple regions with active threat dynamics.
• Experience building global security programs across multi-site environments.
• Experience working with retained security intelligence or consulting firms.
• Experience with ISO 27001, SOC 2 or equivalent audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a monitoring rhythm for active threat environments and elevated-risk locations.
• Brief leadership and partners on geopolitical risk and escalation.
• Translate threat situations into clear leadership briefings and action.
• Develop security standards, emergency guides, and audit-ready documentation globally.
• Oversee security planning for high-risk travel, board meetings, and events with external partners.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Risk on safety policy and employee protection programs.
