Job summary

Corning's Optical Communications segment seeks a Global Demand Planner to drive forecast accuracy for multiple product lines. The role is the integration point between commercial, product line management and operations, leading monthly consensus on short- and long-term demand.

You will develop statistical forecast models, coordinate cross-functional inputs, maintain forecasting tools, and report key metrics to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of supply chain experience.
• Degree in Supply Chain Management or similar discipline preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to see big picture and details.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for short-term planning and long-term forecast.
• Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate results.
• Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model with updated assumptions.
• Use a collaborative approach with commercial and product line management to ensure current and accurate information is used for forecasts.
• Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
• Coordinate changes in demand plan with supply chain and operations.
• Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process.
• Track and report performance of key metrics versus forecasts and business plans, including wMAPE and FVA.
