Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Head of Global Category Management to define, own and drive global category strategies across a diverse supplier landscape supporting manufacturing, installation, retrofit, testing and commissioning activities. You will provide strategic direction, governance and end-to-end ownership of global categories to secure cost leadership, resilience, sustainability and innovation.

You will act as a functional authority for regional category managers, lead complex RFx

Qualifications

• 10+ years in strategic sourcing and/or global category management in a complex, international setting.
• Proven track record shaping and executing global sourcing strategies with measurable impact.
• Strong negotiation, contract frameworks and supplier partnerships at senior level.
• Excellent analytical ability to translate data and risks into strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Define, own and drive global category strategies aligned with business priorities.
• Lead global category governance, frameworks and standards.
• Coordinate cross-region collaboration for aligned sourcing decisions.
• Oversee cost structures, pricing trends and market dynamics for planning.
• Manage and govern RFx processes and high-impact supplier negotiations.
• Oversee supplier lifecycle management and performance.
• Build executive-level relationships with strategic suppliers.
• Apply SCM tools and governance to ensure continuity and resilience.
• Contribute to budgeting, target setting and sourcing performance globally.
• Identify supply risks and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
• Drive responsible sourcing, sustainability actions and compliance across categories.
