EY GDS Poland is seeking a Senior GCP Data Engineer to build data platforms enabling clients and partners to make efficient decisions. You will design robust solutions on Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery, joining a global team on international projects.

Based in Katowice with a hybrid pattern (2 days in office, 3 days remote), you will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, bringing data warehousing, pipelines, and data mesh concepts to life.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• 2 years of Big Data experience on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficient in SQL and/or Python.
• Background in data warehousing, data pipelines, distributed data processing, software engineering components and data modeling concepts.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, particularly those that apply to a big data environment.
• Experience in working with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
• Strong experience in design techniques of relational databases and non-relational storage.
• Strong experience with Data Marts, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Data Mesh.
• Very good English (verbal and written).
• Experience in Agile, DevOps and CI/CD principles.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior GCP Data Engineer you are responsible for building data platforms that enable our clients and business partners to make efficient decisions with ease. You design robust solutions on state-of-the-art data engines such as GCP, and modern data warehousing solutions BigQuery.

Skills And Attributes For Success

Solving complex business problems on a large scale. Participating in cross-functional initiatives and collaborating across various domains. Interacting with engineers, product/project managers, and partners from all over the world.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 4 years of experience in Data Engineering area
• 2 years of experience in Big Data using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• You are proficient in SQL and/or Python
• You have background in data warehousing, data pipelines, distributed data processing, software engineering components and data modeling concepts
• Analytical problem-solving skills, particularly those that apply to a big data environment
• Experience in working with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
• Strong Experience in design techniques of relational databases and non-relational storage
• Strong Experience with concepts such as Data Marts, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes , Data Mesh
• Very good English (verbal and written)
• Experience in using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), DevOps and CI/CD principals

Ideally, you'll also have

• French language at B1 level
• Knowledge of data formats: Parquet, ORC, Avro, as well as emerging concepts like Deltalake/Apache Hudi/Iceberg
