Job summary

EY GDS Poland is seeking a Senior GCP Data Engineer to design and build scalable data platforms on Google Cloud, with emphasis on BigQuery and modern data warehousing. You will collaborate across global teams to deliver robust data solutions and enable smarter decision-making for clients.

The role requires 4+ years in data engineering, strong SQL/Python skills, and experience with data pipelines and DevOps practices. The work model is hybrid with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote in Poland.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• 2 years of experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficient in SQL and/or Python.
• Background in data warehousing, data pipelines, distributed data processing and data modeling concepts.
• Strong analytical problem-solving in big data environments.
• Experience with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
• Knowledge of Data Marts, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Data Mesh.
• Very good English (written and verbal).
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), DevOps and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• As a Senior GCP Data Engineer, design robust data platforms on GCP and BigQuery to enable data-driven decisions.
• Build scalable data pipelines and data warehousing solutions for international projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers and partners across the world to deliver data products.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 4 years of experience in Data Engineering area
• 2 years of experience in Big Data using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• You are proficient in SQL and/or Python
• You have background in data warehousing, data pipelines, distributed data processing, software engineering components and data modeling concepts
• Analytical problem-solving skills, particularly those that apply to a big data environment
• Experience in working with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
• Strong Experience in design techniques of relational databases and non-relational storage
• Strong Experience with concepts such as Data Marts, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes , Data Mesh
• Very good English (verbal and written)
• Experience in using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), DevOps and CI/CD principals

Ideally, you'll also have

• French language at B1 level
• Knowledge of data formats: Parquet, ORC, Avro, as well as emerging concepts like Deltalake/Apache Hudi/Iceberg
