EY GDS Poland is seeking a Senior GCP Data Engineer to build data platforms that enable clients to make informed decisions using GCP and BigQuery. You will design robust data solutions and work with engineers, product managers, and partners around the world.

The role emphasizes data warehousing, pipelines, and modern data engineering practices in a global delivery environment, with a mix of on-site and remote collaboration.

Competenze

• 4 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• 2 years of experience in Big Data on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficient in SQL and/or Python.
• Background in data warehousing, data pipelines, distributed data processing, software engineering components and data modeling concepts.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, especially for big data environments.
• Experience with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
• Strong experience in data marts, data warehouses, data lakes and data mesh concepts.
• Very good English (verbal and written).
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), DevOps and CI/CD principles.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior GCP Data Engineer you are responsible for building data platforms that enable our clients and business partners to make efficient decisions with ease. You design robust solutions on state-of-the‑art data engines such as GCP, and modern data warehousing solutions BigQuery.

Skills and attributes for success

Solving complex business problems on a large scale. Participating in cross‑functional initiatives and collaborating across various domains. Interacting with engineers, product/project managers, and partners from all over the world.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 4 years of experience in Data Engineering area
• 2 years of experience in Big Datausing Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• You are proficient in SQL and/or Python
• You have background in data warehousing, data pipelines, distributed data processing, software engineering components and data modeling concepts
• Analytical problem‑solving skills, particularly those that apply to a big data environment
• Experience in working with structured, semi‑structured and unstructured data
• Strong Experience in design techniques of relational databases and non‑relational storage
• Strong Experience with concepts such as Data Marts, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes , Data Mesh
• Very good English (verbal and written)
• Experience in using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), DevOps and CI/CD principals

Ideally, you’ll also have

• French language at B1 level
• Knowledge of data formats: Parquet, ORC, Avro, as well as emerging concepts like Deltalake/Apache Hudi/Iceberg
