Job summary

HeadHR is seeking a skilled backend developer in Kraków, Poland to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs. The role demands strong experience in Python, as well as commercial exposure to Java and/or .NET.

Responsibilities include managing SQL databases, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and utilizing OpenTelemetry for observability. The successful candidate will also automate processes using Ansible and ensure application reliability and performance.

Job description

You will

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs, primarily using Python.
• Develop and support backend services across Python, Java, and .NET environments.
• Design, optimize, and manage SQL databases, queries, and data models.
• Implement and configure OpenTelemetry to enable end-to-end application observability.
• Instrument applications to collect traces, metrics, and logs, supporting monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to integrate telemetry with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment processes using Ansible.
• Configure and maintain IIS-hosted web applications, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
• Work closely with frontend developers to integrate backend services and contribute to user-facing features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and continuously improve application performance, reliability, and code quality.
