Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a skilled backend engineer to design, develop and maintain server-side logic for web applications. You will build React/Next.js based interfaces, design scalable APIs, and work with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB databases. Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Docker help you excel in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.

You will collaborate with frontend, QA, and design teams, implement security best practices, and contribute to documentation and testing processes.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Java server-side programming.
• Strong knowledge of React/Next.js core principles and related tooling.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience building scalable web applications and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic and APIs.
• Build React/Next.js based applications.
• Design and optimize database schemas for performance and scalability.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and develop internal APIs for frontend-backend communication.
• Implement security best practices and perform regular security audits.
• Optimize server-side code for speed and scalability; monitor and troubleshoot performance.
• Collaborate with frontend, UI/UX, and QA teams; maintain documentation.
• Use Git for version control and conduct thorough testing.
