Job summary

GlobalLogic Inc. is seeking a Principal Architect to design end-to-end migration strategies for thousands of VM fleets to ARM hosts, ensuring seamless transitions with data integrity.

You will shape coordination APIs, safety guarantees, and failover mechanisms, collaborating with network, compute, and storage leads. You will contribute to architecture docs, define state serialization, and guide cross-team discussions while enabling scalable, zero-downtime migrations and robust data migration

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive engineering experience in cloud platform architecture and VM fleet migration.
• Proven expertise in distributed systems, high-availability storage, and hypervisor state transfer.
• Expert-level skills in writing requirements and architectural documentation.
• Programming proficiency in Go, Python, or C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end migration strategies, coordination tools, and automated systems for large VM fleets to ARM hosts.
• Design coordination APIs, rate-limiting rules, safety guarantees, and failover during fleet maintenance.
• Define data integrity validation, state serialization architecture and automated fallback mechanisms.
• Lead technical design discussions with network, compute, and storage engineering leads.

Job description

Seeking a Principal Architect to join the Compute Platform Team. The team is responsible for the systems and automation that manage virtual machine lifecycles and physical server hardware transitions. You will design the architecture enabling thousands of customer workloads to migrate seamlessly from existing hardware onto our new ARM platform without data loss.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive engineering experience in cloud platform architecture and VM fleet migration architecture.
• Proven expertise in distributed systems, high-availability storage, and hypervisor state transfer.
• Expert-level skills in writing requirements and architectural documentation
• Programming proficiency in Go, Python, or C/C+

Nice to have:

• Experience designing zero-downtime or customer-coordinated fleet migration platforms
• Operational experience with large-scale data center fleet evacuations

Job responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end customer migration strategies, coordination tools, and automated systems to move large VM fleets (thousands of compute nodes) to ARM hosts using warm and cold migration models.
• Design coordination APIs, rate-limiting rules, safety guarantees, and failover mechanics during fleet maintenance windows.
• Define data integrity validation, state serialization architecture, and automated fallback mechanisms for fleet-scale hardware transitions.
• Lead technical design discussions with network, compute, and storage engineering leads.
