Job summary

GlobalLogic in Wrocław is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join the Core Compute Team. You will work on backend cloud infrastructure, refactoring control-plane code for ARM servers and NVIDIA Vera, ensuring high performance and compatibility.

You will collaborate with SRE and QA, develop RESTful APIs, and contribute to VM lifecycle management and Linux-based systems programming. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in backend development and experience with Go, Python, and Perl.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
• ≥4 years of backend cloud infra experience.
• Experience with orchestration APIs and VM lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, and Perl.
• Strong knowledge of Linux OS architecture and internals.

Responsibilities

• Refactor and port control plane microservices to run natively on ARM64.
• Implement NUMA memory allocation logic to minimize latency on high-core ARM nodes.
• Develop and update RESTful APIs and backend capabilities for nested virtualization and new instance plans.
• Collaborate with SRE and QA to ensure service stability and deployment workflows.

Description

Seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join the Core Compute Team. The team is responsible for the backend microservices and orchestration logic managing virtual machines across the data center fleet. In this role, you will refactor legacy and modern control-plane codebases to ensure full compatibility and high performance on the new ARM server fleet (NVIDIA Vera).

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of commercial software engineering experience in backend cloud infrastructure development.
• Practical experience working with orchestration APIs and virtual machine lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in Perl (legacy services) along with Go and Python
• Practical knowledge of Linux OS architecture and internals (process management, memory allocation, CPU affinity)
• Experience with Linux systems programming & VM lifecycle management

Nice to have

• Experience refactoring legacy codebases during platform migrations
• Exposure to NUMA memory optimization and microservices refactoring

Job responsibilities

• Refactor and port control plane microservices (vbin, LSS, LDM, VMAP, RS) to run natively on the ARM64 architecture.
• Implement NUMA memory allocation logic in Python to minimize latency and eliminate cross-talk on high-core ARM nodes.
• Develop and update RESTful APIs and backend capabilities to support nested virtualization and new instance plans.
• Collaborate closely with SRE and QA engineers to ensure service stability, state serialization, and seamless deployment workflows.
