ELG Utica Alloys is a specialist in metal revert, sourcing end‑of‑life materials, processing them, and supplying high-performance alloys and metals back into industries such as aerospace, oil & gas, power generation, and engineering.

The Role

This is a senior and high-impact role, serving as number two in the finance team and providing essential assistance and insight into all commercial and operational aspects across our UK, Singapore, and South Africa entities.

Special Project: ERP Implementation Leader

This is a unique opportunity to join us during a major business transformation. We are currently dual-running our bespoke BMS system alongside Microsoft Dynamics 365 ahead of a Q2 2026 roll‑out. The AFC will be a key leader in this project, helping to design and implement reporting and analysis tools for finance, operations, and commercial stakeholders across the Group.

Responsibilities

• Management and Mentorship: Direct management of a UK team of 4 (AP, AR, Cashbook, Payroll) and providing support to finance teams in Singapore and South Africa
• Ownership of Month‑End Close: Driving the monthly financial close process, including full reconciliation to the sales/purchase/inventory system, intercompany reconciliation (current & loan accounts), inventory/sales provisions, accruals & prepayments, and Fixed Assets
• Group Reporting: Preparing the monthly management pack, reporting to our parent company (APERAM) via Tagetik, and answering Group-level queries.
• Statutory Compliance: Liaising with external auditors and overseeing Companies House and National Statistics returns
• Planning and Analysis: Preparation and reporting of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for the UK and overseas subsidiaries
• Treasury and Risk Management: Overseeing weekly currency hedging (USD, Euro, Rand) and reporting on weekly metal positions
• Tax Compliance: Assisting with Corporation Tax and VAT returns as well as providing support for subsidiary company reporting in Singapore, and South Africa

Qualifications

• Master in Finances and Accounting or Master of Economics / Master of Management with a specialization in accounting, controlling, or auditing or 5 years of experience in the sector or similar role
• Data Proficiency: Excellent data analysis skills, including advanced manipulation of Excel documents
• Global Collaborator: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments and internationally (America, Europe, Africa, Far East)
• Inquisitive Mindset: An imperative ability to ask the right questions, understand our complicated industry's unique characteristics, and question current practices to identify and implement improvements
• Deadline Driven: Proven ability to work efficiently and analyse complex information to meet the tight turn‑around required by a listed group for month‑end and statutory reporting
• Fluent in English, other languages are a positive plus
• Open to travelling abroad to visit other sites you collaborate with
