Job summary

Idego is seeking an Engineering Director to own engineering and build a strong leadership team. As part of the Executive Team, you will align with the Management Board to shape the company direction, with full accountability for engineering goals and results.

You will oversee delivery, lead presales efforts, define technology direction, and collaborate with design and growth teams across Cloud, Data & AI, and Software Development.

Responsibilities

• Co-manage the company as a member of the Executive Team and own the goals and results of the engineering area
• Assess teams and projects, build a leadership structure and establish clear ownership across technical areas
• Oversee project delivery and the PM team, ensure high-quality client relationships and proactively address issues
• Lead technical presales and contribute to projects as an architect or tech lead
• Implement and develop our AI SDLC methodology for clients and support its sales
• Define the company’s technology direction: tools, technologies and engineering standards
• Support the design team in building design systems and partner with the Growth Director on brand and visibility initiatives

Job description

Technical background:

• 10+ years of experience in IT, including hands-on technical work, with a career path from developer to architect or CTO level.
• 5+ years in a management role, including managing other leaders.
• Practical experience implementing AI in the software development process (AI SDLC) and the ability to turn new AI developments into real project practice.
• Presales experience, providing technical support throughout the entire process.

Business and leadership skills:

• Sales experience and a solid understanding of project finances: rates, margins and profitability.
• Experience in recruiting and developing teams, including giving feedback and handling difficult conversations.
• Ability to delegate effectively and build a strong leadership team.
• Experience working with clients of various sizes, from startups to enterprise organizations.
• Full commitment and accountability for your own results and those of your team.
• Readiness to work in an organization going through change and growth.

Nice to have

• Experience with Data projects and Python, which make up a significant part of our portfolio.
• Experience building a professional brand, e.g. publications or conference talks.
