Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Kraków seeks an EMEA VAT Analyst to support the Global Tax – Indirect Taxes team. You will lead VAT advisory, planning and compliance matters, collaborating with global tax and finance teams and reporting to the Senior VAT Manager EMEA.

The role is based in Kraków with a hybrid model (2 days in the office). The candidate will bring 5+ years of VAT experience, English fluency and relevant tax certifications.

Qualifications

• Degree level in accounting, law or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience - combination of public accounting and multinational experience.
• Fluent knowledge of English.
• ACA, CTA or VAT tax certificate.
• ERP SAP experience, ARIBA, VERTEX and other tax software experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Indirect tax compliance cycle with the current outsource service provider and the EMEA Controllers.
• Improve and standardize EMEA VAT processes in all VAT workstreams e.g. SAP tax codes, P Cards, Concur travel and expenses, Ariba and SAP purchases, E-invoicing mandates, Master data input.
• Collaborate with Shared Service Centre to promote best practices and efficient invoice processing.
• Serve as a VAT contacts in audits with support of manager and external service providers.
• Address VAT questions including intercompany transfer pricing and PE risk control.
• Stay updated with local/national tax law developments and document procedures.
• Coordinate with country controllers and co-sourcing providers to ensure global application of procedures.
• Support trade compliance and supply chain activities in EMEA and UK.

As an EMEA VAT Analyst, you will support the Manager, Global Tax – Indirect Taxes. Your support will involve Indirect tax advisory, planning, and compliance matters. You will work with Americas and Asia Tax, Global Trade Compliance, Global Finance, Sales and Customer Integration, Global Supply Chain, and Global IT and Business Processes. You will take the lead and providing subject matter expertise on numerous projects that are both and complex.

You will report to the Global Taxes – Senior VAT Manager EMEA and be located at Kraków office. You will work in hybrid model with 2 days at office.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Indirect compliance cycle with the current outsource service provider and the EMEA Controllers, ensuring the use of quality data and performing appropriate checks;
• Improve and standardize EMEA VAT processes in all VAT workstreams e.g. SAP tax codes, P Cards, Concur travel and expenses, Ariba and SAP purchases, E-invoicing mandates, Master data input
• Work with the Shared Service Centre to promote best practices, and efficient invoice processing and continuous improvements;
• Be a contact in VAT audits with support of Manager, company partner functions and external service providers;
• Working with and responding to your department and other function personnel as VAT questions arise, including intercompany transfer pricing, contract review, Permanent Establishment (PE) risk control, and global deployment tax matters;
• Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues and tax law developments;
• Maintain our indirect tax procedures and related documentation and calculations. Coordinate with local country controllers and third-party co-sourcing service providers to ensure global application of the procedures and compliance with local country VAT law;
• Help maintain a teaming environment and an atmosphere of trust
• Deliver trade compliance and supply chain activities. These activities include assisting in efficient supply chain structuring and overseeing the procurement process for APX's nuclear power plant construction projects. Additionally, they involve participating in quote offers and addressing any issues and questions on behalf of the business in EMEA and UK.

Qualifications

• Degree level in accounting, law or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience -combination of public accounting and large multinational experience
• Fluent knowledge of English
• ACA, CTA or VAT tax certificate
• ERP SAP experience, ARIBA, VERTEX and other tax software experience
• Broad technical knowledge of EMEA VAT tax law and regulation
• Effectively translates technical tax matters into practical, easy-to-understand guidance for diverse audiences.
• Operates efficiently while maintaining strong partnerships in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience managing competing demands and adapts to evolving business needs within fast-paced global environments.

The gross base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 13,916 to 17,350PLN gross per month. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
