Job description

Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™, a breakthrough supermaterial unlocking a new generation of products - from lithium-sulfur batteries and energy storage systems to concrete admixtures, lightweight composites, and next-generation sensors that are revolutionizing industries.

Together, these innovations are making a massive global improvement and driving real-world impact across energy, mobility, construction, and defense.

At Lyten, we believe the most meaningful careers begin with purpose - and with people who want to make a difference.

We're not just developing advanced supermaterials - we're about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made.

We're entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators.

At Lyten, we develop technologies that redefine how the world stores and uses energy.

Our battery systems combine advanced engineering, safety, and an uncompromising focus on quality.

We're now looking for an Embedded Software Engineer who's excited to grow, learn, and make a real impact.

Your Role

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you'll design, develop, and maintain embedded software for our Battery Management Systems (BMS). This is an entry-to-mid-level role, ideal for engineers who want to deepen their technical expertise and gradually take on more responsibility. You'll work closely with hardware designers, system architects, and data scientists to deliver robust, safety-aware firmware, written primarily in C, that ends up in real products used every day.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, implement, and test firmware for BMS platforms
  • Develop software on RTOS-based or bare-metal systems
  • Debug complex issues across the hardware-software boundary
  • Create unit tests, participate in HIL testing, and run regression test suites
  • Collaborate across teams throughout the full product lifecycle
  • Write and maintain technical documentation (design notes, interface specs)
  • Follow industry best practices and coding standards (including MISRA-C basics)
What We’re Looking For:
  • 2-4 years of experience in embedded software development
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong C programming skills and solid understanding of microcontroller fundamentals
  • Ability to read schematics and datasheets for peripheral configuration
  • Experience using software debuggers to diagnose hardware-software interaction issues
  • Familiarity with Git version control and basic CI workflows
  • Basic knowledge of battery concepts (cell voltage, balancing, SOC estimation) is a plus
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity to learn
What Will Help You Succeed
  • A strong sense of ownership, from concept to production
  • The ability to troubleshoot complex problems in a fast-paced, international environment
  • Curiosity and motivation to see your work used in everyday life
  • Flexibility, attention to quality, and a positive, collaborative attitude
  • A good sense of humor and positive energy
