Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking an Electronics Technician for the Police Department – Fleet Management Unit. The role focuses on installation, repair and maintenance of emergency lighting systems, radar, MDC, and related equipment for police vehicles.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical issues, wiring, testing, and working with contractors. CJIS background checks apply, with good physical endurance needed for heavy work in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of responsible basic automotive electrical repair or installation experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain emergency lighting, MDC, GPS and radar systems on police vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair communications equipment and radio systems.
• Design interfaces for emergency lighting and communications equipment.
