Job summary

Dornan is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead to join a major project in London. This role provides technical leadership for the electrical engineering function across the project lifecycle, coordinating design, installation, commissioning, and handover while aligning with Dornan's vision and values.

The role requires strong technical knowledge in lead electrical engineering, good commercial awareness within construction projects, and familiarity with Health, Safety, and Environmental

Qualifications

• Lead electrical engineering on large construction projects.
• Review designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Experience coordinating multi-discipline teams across design, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities from design through commissioning and handover.
• Provide technical leadership and resolve complex electrical engineering issues.
• Review electrical designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Manage procurement activities, including technical reviews and equipment approvals.
• Monitor engineering and site progress against project schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, consultants, and the supply chain to ensure successful delivery.
• Promote and maintain high Health & Safety standards across all project activities.
• Support commissioning, project close-out, and handover activities.
• Mentor and develop Electrical Project Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Junior Engineers.
• Drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as the lead technical authority for electrical engineering matters on assigned projects.

The Role

About You

Strong technical knowledge within a lead electrical engineering role. Good commercial awareness within construction projects. Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Design & Build Project Experience

Data Centre Experience is preferable. Experience in managing other engineers.

Your Qualifications

Previous experience working within the construction industry. Previous experience working in a similar role.
