Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to lead complex structural projects from concept to completion in a client-facing role. You will supervise investigations, provide expert consultancy, and mentor junior engineers within a collaborative team environment.

The ideal candidate has MIStructE or MICE membership and extensive experience with remediation and refurbishment projects, delivering technically robust solutions to clients in the built environment.

Qualifications

• Chartered Structural Engineer with MIStructE or MICE membership is required.

Key accountabilities

• Lead and manage complex structural engineering projects from initial instruction through to completion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Undertake structural assessments, investigations and technical reviews.
• Deliver holistic structural engineering consultancy advice to commercial developer and institutional investor clients’
• Deliver innovative solutions for structural remediation following fire, flooding, subsidence, impact damage and structural defects.
• Carry out and oversee structural surveys, defect investigations and forensic engineering assessments.
• Produce high-quality technical reports and engineering advice.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and graduates.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and promoting the companies in-house technical expertise.
• Support the continuous development of technical standards and best practice across the business.
• Represent the client through presentations, technical papers, industry events and professional networking.

Skills and behaviour

• Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE or MICE).
• Demonstrable experience successfully leading and managing projects while acting as the primary client interface.
• Broad structural engineering experience covering both new-build and refurbishment projects.
• Significant experience in structural remediation, including projects arising from fire, flooding, subsidence, structural defects and damage investigations.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis principles and engineering behaviour.
