Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. seeks an Engineer in Generator Electrical Design who will own the electrical design of large turbogenerators from customer specifications through testing and erection.

You will apply electromagnetic, thermal, and ventilation analyses to real projects and work with design, sourcing, manufacturing, and field teams. This role requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering with hands-on experience in rotating electrical machinery, and proficiency with at least one

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Power Engineering with rotating machinery emphasis.
• 1–2 years of rotating electrical machinery design experience.
• Proficiency with at least one commercial EM analysis software package.

Responsibilities

• Deliver requisition-level electrical designs for turbogenerators meeting schedule and cost targets.
• Adapt standard electrical documentation to project requirements.
• Perform electrical, electromagnetic, thermal, and ventilation design analyses.
• Respond to customer and site questions and assess specifications.
• Join tests and analyze results at test stations and power plants.
• Maintain and improve calculation tools for configuring electric machines.
• Support offers, sales, and project management with technical input.
• Support manufacturing, sourcing, erection, commissioning, and evaluate electrical data.
• Collaborate with design groups to maintain generator design consistency and drive cost-out, quality improvements.
