Job summary

UN Women is seeking a disability-inclusive programme consultant to support Gaza recovery and humanitarian programming with a focus on gender equality and inclusion. The role requires strengthening partnerships with WLOs, OPDs, service providers and national stakeholders to ensure rights-based participation and evidence-based decision making.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Disability Studies, Gender Studies, Human Rights, or related field.
• Fluent in English; Arabic knowledge desirable.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in disability inclusion and gender equality.
• Experience mainstreaming disability inclusion across sectors (livelihoods, protection, governance, recovery).
• Experience engaging with OPDs, WLOs and civil society organizations.
• Experience in humanitarian or crisis contexts; Palestine/Middle East region highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to integrate gender-responsive disability inclusion across programmes.
• Advise on accessibility, universal design and inclusive participation throughout the programme cycle.
• Strengthen capacities of OPDs, WLOs and service providers on disability inclusion.
• Facilitate partnerships between WLOs, OPDs, service providers and national stakeholders.
• Develop data systems with disaggregated data and disability-inclusive monitoring.
• Support disability-inclusive protection, economic empowerment and services.
• This is a home-based consultancy with no travel.
