Job summary

ABC Fitness seeks a Director of Product for API & AI Orchestration to lead the end-to-end platform strategy and a growing PM team. You will shape the MCP framework, monetize platform access, and guide partner ecosystems from internal teams to 400+ integrations.

You will collaborate across product, engineering, data, payments, GTM, and partnerships, aligning with a growth mindset and a focus on durable, profitable scaling.

ABC Fitness is becoming the intelligent operating system for the global fitness industry — the infrastructure that powers how 40M+ members are discovered, joined, engaged, and retained across 40,000 operators in 100+ markets. The layer that makes this possible is our API and AI orchestration platform: the control plane that governs how data, agents, partners, and external AI assistants securely access ABC's system of record, payments rails, and member intelligence.

As Director of Product for API & AI Orchestration, you will own this platform end-to-end and build the team and strategy behind it. You will set the vision for how ABC exposes its capabilities — to our 400+ integration partners, to internal teams building embedded AI experiences, and to a new generation of AI agents and assistants via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — and stand up the roadmap, operating model, and commercial engine to deliver it. This is a rare mandate to build a new platform business at ABC: the interface between our data moat and the AI-native fitness economy, and a durable, monetizable revenue line contributing to our 2030 target of 10% of revenue from AI, API, and data.

What You’ll Do

• Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for ABC's API and AI orchestration platform — the control plane for access, permissions, audit, and monetization across the company — and align it with ABC's intelligent-OS and IPS platform strategy.
• Build, lead, and grow a team of product managers, setting direction, coaching for growth, and establishing the operating rhythm and ways of working for the platform organization.
• Define and own ABC's MCP strategy: how external AI assistants and agents discover and act on ABC capabilities (availability, pricing, booking, billing, member context) safely, with the right authentication, scoping, governance, and audit.
• Own the platform P&L thinking and commercial model: usage-based and tiered monetization, entitlements, metering, and packaging that turn platform access into a scalable revenue line.
• Treat the API as a flagship product — set the standard for developer and partner experience across documentation, onboarding, versioning, SDKs, sandbox, and self-serve so partners and internal teams build faster and stay on the platform.
• Partner with engineering, security, and compliance leadership to make access governance a first-class capability — granular permissions, consent, audit trails, and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, PCI, SOC) built into the platform.
• Act as a senior cross-functional leader across product, engineering, data, payments, GTM, and partnerships — building alignment, managing dependencies, and representing the platform in executive and board-level forums.
• Shape the 400+ partner ecosystem strategy with business development, prioritizing the integrations, endpoints, and orchestration patterns that unlock the most partner and member value.
• Define and own the KPIs and success metrics for the platform — adoption, partner activation, API reliability, and monetized consumption — and drive data-informed prioritization amid ambiguity and competing demand.
• Serve as the internal and external evangelist for the platform, representing ABC with partners, prospective developers, analysts, and strategic customers.

What You’ll Need

• 15+ years in product management, including experience leading and growing product teams (managing PMs or managers).
• A track record of owning API, platform, or developer-facing products end-to-end — from strategy through delivery — and treating them as products others build on.
• Demonstrated success building or scaling a platform, API, or ecosystem business, including its commercial and monetization model.
• Strong technical fluency: able to set direction on REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication and authorization (OAuth, scopes, tokens), webhooks, versioning, and API governance with senior engineering leaders.
• Proven ability to translate a high-level platform vision into strategy, business cases, org design, and prioritized delivery across multiple teams.
• Executive presence and communication skills — comfortable influencing at the leadership and board level and negotiating with stakeholders at all levels.
• A degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent relevant experience.

AND IT’S GREAT TO HAVE

• Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI agent tooling, function/tool calling, or LLM orchestration — and a clear point of view on how AI assistants should safely act on platform data.
• Experience building monetization for platform or API products: usage-based pricing, metering, entitlements, and packaging.
• Exposure to payments, fintech, CRM, or other systems-of-record where compliance, security, and data governance are core to the product.
• Experience operating in a private-equity-backed or high-growth software environment with a focus on durable, profitable growth.
• Strong leadership and team-player qualities, adept at building relationships and collaborating across functions and geographies.
• Deep understanding of agile methodology and ceremonies, and the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously with ownership and accountability.
• A growth mindset and familiarity with the fitness industry and modern fitness consumers.

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and market considerations. The anticipated compensation range for this position is - $174,000.00 - $202,000.00 USD or 530,000.00 - 540,000.00 PLN- annually. In addition to base compensation, eligible employees may be offered other forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commissions, equity, or other incentive programs, where applicable. Compensation and benefits may vary by location and are subject to applicable legal, business, and market requirements.
