Job summary

ABC Fitness in Poland is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design and develop scalable Golang services, write and optimize complex SQL queries, and handle large datasets for our CRM and XLerate platforms.

You will lead a small team of 2–3 engineers, collaborate with product and QA, and help set technical direction while contributing to high-impact projects across the CRM ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field preferred, 5+ years of experience with a general-purpose programming language (Go preferred).
• Proven experience owning complex backend features or services; prior lead/senior ownership preferred.
• Solid understanding of agile development methods in an Agile/Lean/Continuous Delivery environment.
• Knowledge of modern Quality and Testing principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable leading a small team of 2–3 engineers.

You’ll join CRM Ops, the engineering squad that owns CRM operations and segmentation on the ABC Glofox platform — including tags, audiences, tasks, and Member Aggregate, our segmentation engine. The team connects member and studio data to day-to-day CRM workflows so studios can reach the right people and turn engagement into measurable outcomes. As we enhance our segmentation capabilities to support more use cases, you'll need to be an expert at optimizing and developing complex MySQL queries for a system that serves ~130M active members and all their CRM needs (workflows, marketing campaigns, reporting and more). You’ll help set backend technical direction for XLerate, providing technical guidance to a small team of 2–3 engineers, and partner closely with Product. You’ll also work closely with partner squads such as Connect, which powers automations and communications alongside CRM, to continue building XLerate, our next-generation CRM product and a major priority for ABC Fitness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical guidance to a small team of 2–3 engineers — mentoring through design reviews, pairing, and thoughtful feedback
• Design and develop backend services using Golang
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for high-performance applications
• Handle large datasets and data-intensive workflows
• Guide backend technical approaches for CRM Ops / XLerate, unblocking the team and raising the quality bar
• Work with an energized, fun, friendly and customer-focused cross-functional team
• Collaborate with designers, developers, product managers, and testers to transform ideas into unique, human experiences for fitness entrepreneurs
• Use cutting edge Agile & Lean ways of working underpinned by DevOps and CI/CD

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field exp. preferred 5+ years of experience with a general-purpose programming language, 2+ in Golang
• Proven experience owning complex backend features or services; prior lead/senior ownership preferred, including leading a small engineering team
• Solid understanding of the practical application of agile development methods in an Agile/Lean/Continuous Delivery environment
• Knowledge of modern Quality and Testing principles
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable leading a small team of 2–3 engineers and partnering with Product
• Comfortable learning new technologies and systems AND IT’S GREAT TO HAVE
• Deep experience with MySQL performance tuning at scale
• Experience with event-driven architectures or high-throughput APIs
• Prior CRM, marketing automation, or segmentation domain experience
• Familiarity with partnering across squads (e.g. communications/automations)

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and market considerations. The anticipated compensation range for this position is - 265,000.00 - 275,000.00 PNL- annually. In addition to base compensation, eligible employees may be offered other forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commissions, equity, or other incentive programs, where applicable. Compensation and benefits may vary by location and are subject to applicable legal, business, and market requirements.
