Sii Poland is seeking a Designer to craft enclosures for switchboards, combining plastic and metal components. The role covers concept development through implementation, with cross-technology work including plastics and sheet metal.

The position is hybrid (Tychy) with occasional trips to Germany. You will create 3D models, select materials, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Min. 5 years of experience in mechanical design or engineering.
• Experience in conceptual design.
• High level of independence at work.
• Experience working with plastics.
• Knowledge of sheet metal processing (bending, punching, holes).
• Familiarity with Creo; Windchill is a plus.
• Ability to create technical documentation.
• English at least B2; German at least B1; Polish fluent.

Job description

Join the Sii Engineering team as a Designer and take part in a project where you create solutions for the electrotechnical industry from the very first concept. We are looking for a person responsible for designing enclosures for switchboards that combine plastic components and metal elements.

This role is for someone who wants to design from scratch – from the idea, through concept development, to preparing the design for implementation. A major advantage of the project is its cross‑technology nature – it includes designing plastic parts as well as working with sheet metal elements, where processes such as bending, punching, and hole making are important.

The work is carried out in a hybrid model (Tychy) with the possibility of regular trips to Germany.

Your tasks

• Creating and developing technical solutions from the idea stage
• Designing enclosures for switchboards made of plastics and metal components
• Creating 3D models and technical documentation
• Selecting materials and production technologies
• Cooperating with production, quality, and engineering departments
• Participating in design reviews and optimizing solutions

Requirements

• Min. 5 years of experience in a role related to mechanical design or engineering
• Experience in conceptual design
• High level of independence at work
• Experience working with plastics
• Good knowledge of sheet metal processing, especially: bending, punching/hole making
• Familiarity with tools: Creo, Windchill is a plus
• Ability to create technical documentation
• English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level
• German language proficiency at a minimum B1 level
• Required presence in Poland and fluent Polish language skills
