Job summary

Samba is a media intelligence company in Warsaw. As a mid-level Data Scientist, you will own end-to-end delivery of significant data science projects with minimal guidance, leveraging core domains such as measurement or audience modelling.

You will write production-quality Python and PySpark on Databricks, mentor junior scientists, collaborate with product and engineering, and apply ML, RAG, and LLM-augmented approaches to real-world media data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is required; master's preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands-on data science experience delivering complex projects.
• Advanced Python with production-quality code, strong SQL and PySpark.
• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake and job orchestration.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
• Proficiency in ML methods and MLOps.
• Experience with RAG, LLM-augmented models, vector databases.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data science projects from problem scope to deployment.
• Decide methodology, model selection, evaluation with documentation.
• Lead solution design and create user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Build production-quality Python and PySpark code on Databricks.
• Implement ML/AI workflows including embedding-based matching and LLM pipelines.
• Develop reusable tools and conduct code reviews to raise standards.
• Mentor junior data scientists and run internal ML talks.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations translating requirements.
