WCG is seeking a data analytics professional to manipulate and analyze large clinical trial data assets, delivering actionable insights to inform strategy and decision making.

You will apply statistical techniques, build predictive models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast feasibility and trial development outcomes. A strong background in Python/R/SQL, Power BI, and Tableau is required, with emphasis on data-driven storytelling.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The role requires the performance of data manipulation, data cleaning, analytics on the data asset, and interaction with the business to provide domain expertise to create insights. The ability to serve up complex findings in an understandable way is critical to this role. This individual is considered a subject-matter expert in the data associated with operational clinical trial management as well as available data sources contained within the WCG including the Knowledge Base.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The accountabilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

• Responsible for helping the organization discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data (open source, licensed and proprietary) and make smarter decisions to deliver excellent services and products.
• Apply data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with existing and future services/products.
• Selecting features, building, and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques.
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
• Independently process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
• Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner.
• Supports team members developing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting of operational data in support of strategy and planning.
• Conducts data mining of open sourced, licensed, and proprietary data sources and initiates/oversees collection of data for use in development of robust strategies for clinical trials.
• Provide day-to-day support of the business as required to efficiently and effectively model and forecast from feasibility data and other relevant information to allow for the development of evidence-based strategies for inclusion into client deliverables.
• Prepare clinical trial operational predictions/forecasts with appropriate guidance from internal clinical operational experts.
• Act as a resource for colleagues on programming and visualizations needs.
• Synthesize multiple sources of information to solve problems related to data analysis and delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in leading projects as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline from a recognized University or College.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years of progressive relevant work experience in development with progressing experience with data analytics, market research, and/or data mining in developing feasibility and clinical trial development strategies are required.
• At least six months experience analyzing large data sets, applying a variety of statistical techniques such as regression, discriminant analysis, cluster analysis, and Bayesian Theory are desired.
• Practical experience, understanding, and demonstrated experience mining, manipulating, and presenting of complex scientific data as it relates to clinical research and market analyses.
• Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
• Experience with machine learning techniques and algorithms.
• Experience with common data science toolkits, such as Python, R, SQL. Excellence in at least one of these is desirable.
• Experience with AI integrations.
• Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
• Good scripting and programming skills.
• Data-oriented personality.
