Job summary

CRIF Sp. z o.o., the Polish arm of the international CRIF Group, seeks a Data Protection Officer to manage GDPR compliance and data privacy governance in Poland.

The role covers advising on data protection, monitoring regulatory changes, and coordinating with internal teams and authorities. The successful candidate will have 2–3 years in legal & compliance with strong data protection experience, fluency in Polish and English, and the ability to communicate with executives in a fast-moving

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in legal & compliance, data protection preferred.
• Proficiency in Polish and English (speaking and writing).
• Ability to interface with transaction teams and external counsels.
• Ability to provide guidance to senior executives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the Data Protection Officer under Article 39 GDPR; advise on data protection, monitor compliance, train, cooperate with authorities.
• Monitor GDPR developments at Polish and EU level and assess impact on CRIF in Poland.
• Assess CRIF Poland's compliance with GDPR and Polish data protection regulations; advise business functions.
• Provide advice on DPIAs and privacy-by-design; monitor implementation of measures.
• Support management of regulatory, extrajudicial, and judicial data protection proceedings.
• Assist in developing and improving data protection policies, procedures, and governance.
• Guide handling of data subject requests and data breaches.

Job description

CRIF Sp. z o.o. is the Polish company member of an innovative international group (“CRIF Group”) specialized in credit information systems, business information and credit management solutions. CRIF Group provides IT solutions, decisioning systems, outsourcing, banking software and consulting services; our clients are mainly finance and insurance companies, utilities companies and enterprises in general and we support them in each step of their relations with their customers.

We are looking for a candidate that will join us and will take the position of Data Protection Officer at CRIF Sp. z o.o., Krajowe Biuro Informacji Gospodarczej S.A. and ERIF Biuro Informacji Gospodarczej S.A.

Your responsibilities

• Acting as the Data Protection Officer and performing the tasks assigned to the Data Protection Officer under Article 39 of the GDPR, including advising on data protection matters, monitoring compliance, delivering training and cooperating with supervisory authorities
• Monitoring developments in data protection legislation, regulatory guidance, case law and enforcement decisions at both Polish and EU level and assessing their impact on the activities of CRIF companies in Poland
• Monitoring the compliance of CRIF companies in Poland with the GDPR and applicable Polish data protection regulations, and providing advice and recommendations to relevant business functions
• Providing advice on risk assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments and privacy-by-design requirements, as well as monitoring the implementation of recommended measures
• Supporting the management of regulatory, extrajudicial, and judicial proceedings related to data protection and privacy matters
• Supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of data protection policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
• Providing legal and practical guidance on the handling of data subjects’ requests and personal data breaches

Our requirements

• Availability of hybrid working from an office in Krakow
• The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in legal & compliance field (data protection experience is considered a must), preferably in primary multinational companies and/or international law firms
• Proficiency in Polish and English is essential (both spoken and written)
• Ability to interface and communicate well with the transaction team, including internal operational and management staff as well as outside counsels
• Ability to provide top-level guidance to senior executives in an understandable way, often in a fast-moving and evasive environment
• High level of autonomy, ownership and proactivity in managing data protection matters and supporting business stakeholders
• Result and team oriented and able to work in an international, multi-cultural, fast-moving and complex business environment.
