Job summary

UniCredit Bank Poland is seeking a Compliance Officer to join the 2LoD and help build a robust compliance governance framework across the organization. The role involves risk assessments, regulatory change management, and independent testing to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of professional experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or Regulatory Oversight within a regulated financial institution.
  • Understanding of banking regulatory environment, products and processes.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and risk awareness.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work effectively under time pressure.
  • Professional certifications.
  • Fluency in Polish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in international and/or digital banks is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance risk assessments across business and support units to identify, evaluate, and mitigate regulatory risks.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines ensuring alignment with Group standards and local requirements.
  • Prepare compliance reports, dashboards, and MI for local management and Group Compliance.
  • Monitor KCIs/KPIs and track metrics to evaluate the framework’s effectiveness.
  • Support governance framework operationalization and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to join us at this pivotal moment, share our vision, and help shape the future of European banking.

What you will be doing?

As a Compliance Officer within the Compliance team, operating as a key function of the Second Line of Defense (2LoD), you will support the organization in establishing, maintaining, and overseeing a robust compliance governance framework.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting compliance risk assessments, tracking regulatory developments (including KNF/GIIF guidelines and EU directives), performing independent control testing, and delivering comprehensive compliance reporting to executive management and Compliance. You will play a pivotal role in embedding a strong compliance culture, managing control frameworks, and ensuring full alignment with regulatory expectations and internal standards, while actively fostering an environment where Compliance acts as a "trusted advisor" to the business.

Key responsibilities
Risk Assessment, Governance & Reporting
  • Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments across business and support units to identify, evaluate, and mitigate regulatory risks
  • Oversee the lifecycle of compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring full alignment with Group standards and local regulatory requirements
  • Prepare comprehensive compliance reports, dashboards, and management information (MI) for local executive management, relevant committees, and Group Compliance
  • Monitor Key Compliance Indicators (KCIs/KPIs) and track metrics to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the compliance framework
  • Support the operationalization and continuous improvement of governance frameworks
Regulatory Change Management
  • Proactively monitor regulatory developments, market trends, and legal changes (e.g., EU directives, KNF/GIIF guidelines) and translate them into actionable business requirements
  • Represent the Compliance function in cross-functional projects and working groups
  • Maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders to drive compliance awareness and governance integration across the organization
Internal Controls & Independent Testing
  • Support the design, implementation, and coordination of the 2nd Line of Defense (2LoD) internal control framework
  • Plan and perform independent compliance controls, testing, and assurance reviews to monitor adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards
  • Identify, investigate, and elevate compliance breaches or control deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Document control findings, issue actionable remediation recommendations, and track the resolution of identified gaps or audit findings
Skills you should have
  • 5 years of professional experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or Regulatory Oversight within a regulated financial institution
