Job summary

HARMAN International seeks a DLP Manager to lead enterprise Data Loss Prevention strategy, roadmap, and governance. You will use Microsoft Purview to protect sensitive data and drive compliance while enabling business productivity.

You will partner with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, HR, and business units to implement policies, monitoring, and risk-based remediation. This role requires strong leadership and analytical skills in a global context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information security, IT, CS, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data protection, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview, including DLP, Information Protection, and labeling.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise DLP strategy, roadmap, and governance aligned with cybersecurity objectives.
• Design and implement DLP capabilities across endpoints, email, and collaboration platforms using Microsoft Purview.
• Lead data classification, sensitivity labeling, information protection, and governance standards.
• Define and implement DLP policies, controls, and monitoring for sensitive data.
• Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, HR, and business stakeholders on regulatory requirements.
• Drive Insider Risk Management initiatives and coordinate incident response.
• Analyze DLP alerts and trends to identify control improvements and program optimization.
• Develop metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting on risk posture and program effectiveness.
• Serve as the technical authority for DLP architecture and policy decisions.
• Manage relationships with Microsoft and other vendors to optimize deployment.

What You’ll Be Part Of

As a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Manager, you will serve as HARMAN’s subject matter expert and strategic leader for enterprise Data Loss Prevention capabilities. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Cybersecurity Operations, responsible for defining and executing the DLP strategy, roadmap, and governance framework across the organization. You will leverage Microsoft Purview and related technologies to protect HARMAN’s sensitive data, reduce risk, and strengthen compliance while enabling business productivity. Working closely with Cybersecurity, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders, you will drive the continuous evolution of HARMAN’s data protection program.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Own the enterprise Data Loss Prevention strategy, roadmap, and operational maturity plan aligned with HARMAN’s cybersecurity and compliance objectives.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve DLP capabilities using Microsoft Purview across endpoints, email, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other collaboration platforms.
• Lead the development and maintenance of data classification, sensitivity labeling, information protection, and data governance standards.
• Define and implement DLP policies, controls, and monitoring capabilities to safeguard sensitive corporate, customer, employee, and intellectual property data.
• Partner with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Human Resources, and business stakeholders to ensure data protection controls align with regulatory and business requirements.
• Drive Insider Risk Management initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and respond to data protection incidents.
• Analyze DLP alerts, trends, and risk indicators to identify opportunities for control improvements and program optimization.
• Develop metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting to communicate program effectiveness, risk posture, and strategic recommendations.
• Serve as the primary technical authority and escalation point for DLP-related architecture, policy, and operational decisions.
• Manage relationships with Microsoft and other technology vendors to evaluate new capabilities, optimize platform utilization, and drive continuous improvement.
• Establish and maintain DLP governance processes, operational standards, and best practices across the organization.
• Provide guidance and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions to strengthen data protection awareness and adoption.

What Makes You A Strong Fit

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data protection, information governance, compliance technology, or related disciplines.
• Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Purview, including Data Loss Prevention, Information Protection, Sensitivity Labels, Data Classification, and Insider Risk Management capabilities.
• Strong understanding of data protection principles, cybersecurity controls, and information security best practices.
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise‑scale DLP strategies, policies, and governance frameworks.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to data protection and privacy.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex initiatives and influence decisions across technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience analyzing security events, investigating incidents, and developing risk‑based remediation strategies.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills with the ability to balance security, compliance, and business objectives.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Bonus Points if You Have

• Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate (SC-400).
• Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200).
• CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or similar industry‑recognized security certification.
• Experience supporting global data protection and privacy programs in multinational organizations.
• Knowledge of GDPR and other international data protection regulations.
• Experience integrating DLP controls with broader security operations, insider risk, and compliance programs.
• Experience evaluating and managing third‑party security or compliance technology vendors.
