Job summary

HCLTech in Wroclaw, Poland is hiring a Data Engineer (Azure Platform) for a hybrid role. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Microsoft Azure, enabling BI, analytics, and informed decision-making across the organization.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions, while ensuring data quality, security, and compliance in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Qualifications

Data Engineer (Azure Platform) - (hybrid from Wroclaw, Poland)

Overview of the Role:

As a Data Engineer specializing in the Azure platform, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions that empower business intelligence, advanced analytics, and decision-making across the organization. Your expertise will be instrumental in leveraging cloud-based technologies to optimize data pipelines, ensure data integrity, and support the company’s ambition to be at the forefront of digital innovation for its clients.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Develop, construct, test, and maintain highly scalable data pipelines on Microsoft Azure.
• Design and implement data integration, migration, and transformation solutions from multiple data sources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Optimize and troubleshoot data workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Document data engineering processes, architecture, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the data platform.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Azure data services and related technologies.

Skill Requirements:

• Proven hands-on experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, etc.).
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse concepts.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Other Requirements:

• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Synapse Analytics) is a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for data engineering.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate are advantageous.
• Knowledge of Python, Scala, or other programming languages commonly used in data engineering.
