Vention is seeking a seasoned Data Architect to lead data modelling and architectural governance for a remote Poland role. You will shape the data platform across the Medallion layers and drive standards for scalable analytics.

You will collaborate with engineering, BI, and product teams to translate business needs into robust data models and blueprints, ensuring clear documentation and governance.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with a strong architecture focus.
• Strong expertise in data modeling - dimensional modelling, star schema, data vault, or Kimball.
• Hands-on experience with DBT for modelling and transformation layer design.
• Deep knowledge of Databricks and Azure data services (ADLS Gen2, Synapse).

Responsabilidades

• Own the data architecture strategy and act as the final reviewer for significant structural changes to the platform.
• Design and govern data models across the bronze, silver and gold layers of the Medallion Architecture.
• Define and enforce dimensional modelling standards (star schema, data vault or hybrid).
• Lead the design of semantic/gold layer models for BI, analytics and product use cases.
• Recommend scalable and reusable data modelling patterns in DBT.
• Establish data governance standards and maintain architectural blueprints and platform documentation.
• Assess new data sources and design ingestion and modelling patterns with engineering.
• Collaborate with engineering, Data Analysts, BI and Product to translate business needs into robust data models.

What you’ll do

• Own the data architecture strategy and act as the final reviewer for significant structural changes to the platform
• Design and govern data models across the bronze, silver and gold layers of the Medallion Architecture
• Define and enforce dimensional modelling standards (star schema, data vault or hybrid)
• Lead the design of semantic/gold layer models for BI, analytics and product use cases
• Recommend scalable and reusable data modelling patterns in DBT
• Establish data governance standards (naming conventions, data classification, lineage) and maintain architectural blueprints and platform documentation
• Assess new data sources and design ingestion and modelling patterns, working with engineering to keep decisions practical and implementable
• Collaborate with engineering, Data Analysts, BI and Product to translate business needs into robust data models, assess new data sources, and present decisions to technical and non-technical audiences

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect orSenior Data Engineer with a strong architecture focus
• Strong expertise in data modeling - dimensionalmodelling, star schema, data vault, or Kimball methodology
• Hands-on experience with DBT for modelling and transformation layer design
• Deep knowledge of Databricks and Azure data services (ADLS Gen2, Synapse)
• Solid SQL and Python skills for reviewing and validating data modelsExperience designing for Medallion / Lakehouse architectures
• Ability to produce and maintain clear architectural documentation
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• English B2+ with confidence presenting architectural solutions to international stakeholders
• Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, Databricks, or equivalent cloud certifications will be a plus
