Job summary

Philip Morris International in Kraków seeks a senior data architect to develop and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, governance practices, and tools to support effective data management across the organization.

You will translate business needs into scalable data models and integration solutions, collaborate with data engineers, solution architects and analytics teams, ensure security, compliance, and data quality while advancing a strategic data vision.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Proven experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Management, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in Enterprise Data Modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Experience designing and implementing Data Integration solutions across complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Reporting, and Metadata Management concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Governance frameworks and data quality management practices.
  • Strong understanding of Data Security Protocols, data privacy requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Experience developing architecture standards, governance processes, and data management policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, frameworks, governance practices, and tools to support effective data management across the organization.
  • Support the development and refinement of high-level enterprise data models and conceptual views of data sub-architectures, including databases, data integration, data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting, metadata, and content management.
  • Identify and translate business requirements into scalable and secure data architecture solutions, considering performance, reporting, analytics, security, and accessibility needs.
  • Design and implement data models, data integration solutions, and architecture frameworks that support current and future business objectives.
  • Act as a key point of contact for operational data architecture decisions, ensuring alignment with established standards, policies, and governance requirements.
  • Optimize enterprise data and information flows by reducing redundancy, improving data consistency, and enabling secure access to information.
  • Ensure data architecture solutions meet requirements related to scalability, performance, availability, compliance, and data security.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, solution architects, and analytics teams to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve data architecture capabilities.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of data-related processes, programs, and policies.
  • Create and maintain data architecture documentation, standards, roadmaps, and governance artifacts.

WHAT IS NEEDED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE?

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams
  • Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for enterprise data architecture
  • Experience leading or contributing to enterprise-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
