Job summary

Evotym is seeking a strategic CTO to lead the next phase of its scalable fintech platform. You will drive distributed systems, cloud-native delivery and DevOps, guiding engineering teams across cross‑border initiatives.

You will partner with Product, Security and Operations to align technology with business goals, drive architectural excellence, manage technical debt and foster leadership in distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as CTO or senior engineering leader.
• Background in fintech, payments or payments infrastructure.
• Proven ability to build and scale high-load platforms.
• Expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, APIs.
• Experience with cloud-native tech, DevOps and modern delivery.
• Experience developing engineers in distributed orgs.
• Strong focus on scalability, reliability, security.
• English and Russian for international stakeholders.

About the Client

Our client develops white-label payment software for financial service providers and businesses. Its platform supports payments, accounts, cards and operational workflows through modular tools and APIs. It serves an international market.

Role Overview

As CTO, you will shape the next stage of a growing platform and make decisions that affect its scale, resilience and delivery. You will work with skilled engineering teams on distributed systems and cloud-native architecture. The scope spans platform evolution, technical debt and modern delivery practices, including DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technology strategy in line with business goals and long-term growth plans.
• Evolve the platform architecture for scalability, resilience and maintainability.
• Guide engineering teams, develop technical leaders and establish clear ownership and accountability.
• Maintain system performance, availability and reliability as transaction volumes and complexity grow.
• Set engineering standards and delivery practices that balance speed, quality and sustainability.
• Guide the adoption of distributed systems, event-driven architecture and cloud-native technologies.
• Oversee architectural decisions, technical debt and technology investments.
• Work with Product, Operations, Security and business stakeholders to align technical priorities with business needs.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, Director of Engineering or in a comparable senior technology role.
• Strong background in fintech, payment service providers, payment processing or payments infrastructure.
• Proven experience building and scaling high-load, mission-critical platforms.
• Strong expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, microservices and API-driven platforms.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies, DevOps and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience managing engineering teams and developing technical leaders in distributed organisations.
• Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, performance optimisation and security.
• Experience in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments is an advantage.
• Fluent English and Russian are required for communication with international stakeholders.
