State Street in Kraków, Poland seeks an AVP Controller to oversee Business Unit accounting and legal entity reporting. The role partners with BU Finance and GAO to ensure accurate results and robust internal controls, while supporting external audits and regulatory exams.

The position emphasizes collaboration with global leadership on change initiatives, new product launches, and regulatory programs, with a permanent contract and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.
• CPA or equivalent designation a plus but not a requirement.
• 7–9 years accounting experience in financial services industry.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in a team.
• Understanding of internal controls and ability to perform assessments and issue resolution.
• Experience with legal entity financial reporting and accounting.
• Familiar with Regulatory issues affecting the Financial Services Industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and review/analysis of Business Unit accounting financial results and legal entities.
• Provide audit support for internal, external and regulatory exams as required.
• Implement and ensure compliance with GAAP accounting rules that affect Business Unit accounting.
• Partner with Business Unit, and Global Accounting Operations (GAO) and Finance leadership to ensure accuracy of financial results and that internal controls are designed and executed.
• Engage with global leadership on key business and change initiatives focusing on BU accounting and internal controls to mitigate risk.
• Support new products and services initiatives with reporting transparency and process improvements.
• Partner with BU leadership on Resolution & Recovery Planning (RRP) and other regulatory initiatives.
